Like many people, I was not an actual 'fan' but I realise now how much of his music was a part of my life. It's sort or like it was always there. I remember vividly talking about the Thriller clip release and the hipe about it at high school and begging my parents to watch it on TV that night. Later dancing to Blame It On The Boogie. I have always loved the song Ben, it always tugs at my heart, not only for the lyrics but also for the young, emotional and lovely voice of MJ. My 11 year old daughter today said she loves the song Black or White and she knows what the 'moon walk' is. I think it's extraordinary for a pop icon to cross generations as he did. His music, dancing and talent will always be remembered as a part of my teenage + years. I always felt sad for his loss of youth and of course was concerned about his strange life style. I wish though now to remember him as a music star that rocked the dance floor and made video clips exciting. I wish the end of his life could have been more peaceful.
