What was your favorite or most memorable news event of the past year?

When I meant year, I meant actually 2009...but considering the actual '365 day' year perspective is helpful too.

Definitely President Obama's election and inauguration. I did a lot of volunteering for his campaign, so it made all the hard work worth it. I know some people would completely disagree (and that's ok), but no nasty comments please.
