The turning point of the civil rights movement was when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. This man led a coalition of non-violence throughout the South with the hope of making America a better place and how was Dr. King told thank you? A bullet to the face. So after Dr. King was murdered, many African-Americans became lost and gave up on hope......and The Dream which Martin wanted so badly was abandoned because no one followed his footsteps ......Some turned to drugs and crime. Now my people are just in a sad disposition......I hope Obama can help us.........
