What was the title of this book? About a girl named Charlotte...?

I think the main character name was Charlotte or something with a C. But the story takes place on a ship. I think she is sailing to ocean to somewhere. I believe it's a young adult read, and its pretty famous.

I remember the cover has a brown haired girl, looking out on the horizon from the side of ship.
