What was the polite thing to do while dining at a friends house and finding

little roaches in the food? I was eating happily and then I noticed that there were these little bitty roaches in the food. I am not joking.. (They were really small, but like maybe 3 in the plate.. so I know she didn't know about it.)

I had been eating heartily and so I stopped.. She wanted to know why I wasn't eating anymore? I just said I was full, but I could tell she was upset. Should I have just flat out told her??? If I had she would have been so embarrassed.
LOL I did think I would vomit
She was very proud of cooking and I felt bad saying
