What was the Film?

I can't remeber the name of this film. It was black and white, set in an artic/antartic station. A beasty (possibly a vegtable) was terrorising everyone. It gets electricuted by some mesh laid as trap on the floor in the end.

It sounRAB a bit like the original 'The Thing' which was remade by John Carpenter in the early 80's. Not sure if it's title was 'The Thing' as well though?
