My memory is not as good as it was then.... but we had water from wells, paved streets, nice buildings. I used to see Plato and Socrates at their homes. Plato loved to write. He was always writing Dialogs. In these dialogs he would have two or three people talking to each other. My favorite was Critias in which he described Atlantis, the city in the "real sea", an island nation which sank in "a day and a night."
There were slaves to do the work. No pizza or hamburgers to eat.
