What was Sega TV and how did it work?

I remember seeing advertisements for it on TV. It was supposed to be a channel you received from your cable provider and it allowed you to play Sega games on it. I'm interested in how it worked and how much it was and stuff of that nature. I can't find any information on it.
Can any of you provide links to information?
