What war was more of a failure Vietnam or this war on "terror"?

In 'nam, the US lost 20 troops a day for 8 years, over 58,000 total. No one can beat those numbers. The war on terror is a crock because terrorists never identify themselves until they blow themselves up or start shooting at a crowd. No way can anyone fight that.
 
I go against my republican brethren when I say I agree with you.

But the war on terror isn't really the same thing.
We are at war with people who hide in civilians clothes hell bent on destroying and killing american lives.
So the comparison can't truly be made.

We got involved with Vietnam in a civil war dispute to keep communism out of Vietnam..
 
vietnam- more solider deaths, north vietnam won, domino effect was completely wrong. alot of civilian deaths
iraq/afganistan- no steady goals, longer, more expensive, absolutely no reason to be there, lied to in order to invade, no wmds
