Hey everyone. I have severe acid reflux from time to time. I have to take Prevacid every day to help prevent it from occurring. My doctor suggested that I may have a food allergy by she doesn't know what it is I am allergic to. What kind of food allergies can cause severe acid reflux?

Well, if it's actually an allergy, it could be just about anything. Nuts, seafood, corn, milk, wheat and soy are some fooRAB that people commonly become allergic to.

Or, it could be a food that triggers reflux in you but that you aren't really allergic to.

You say your reflux is only there some of the time, which means it's probably something you eat frequently but not every day.

Try keeping track of what you eat and how you feel for a while, and look for a pattern.
