...to speed up the cycling period? I have a 29gal tall saltwater Reef Aquarium, its been going for a little over a year. Two weeks ago i purchased a 75gal and want to transfer my inhabitants. I know not to rush things, but anything to acquire the correct water parameters and encourage the growth of beneficial microorganisms to cycle my tank. I have a JEBO 838 Canister Filter which has 4 stage filtration. Currently the filter media i am using is ( in order from top media basket to bottom media basket) 1. White foam, blue sponge 2. large ceramic rings 3. Small ceramic rings 4. Activated carbon. What types of filter media would most encourage bacteria growth in the water to speed up the cycling period?
