What type of sandpaper should i use to sand my bmx bike so I can paint it.?

I don't have a lot of money so I need to know the cheapest kind of sandpaper to buy?

Chances are ur paintn' it black. If so use any available black.sorry.I used to be a bike dude.Just a devil now.
