What type of programming language is needed to create a mmo fps game like Phosphor ?

I wanted to make it in Flash but have been told that it would be hard to make a 3d game in Flash, and that it would be laggy from the amount of memory that would be needed to support it and all the players.

Now i'm looking for another language that can be displayed with Shockwave like Phosphor is.

If you know what programming language I can use please reply.
