What type of paint to use for a first time painter.?

I want to start painting and teach myself to paint so what's the best/easiest type of paint to start with?because I know there are different types such as water color, oil,etc.... Those are the only two I know so far... Some tips will help
 
If you're asking this question, go for acrylics. Both oil and watercolor require a bit of instruction for either preparation of the painting surface; or in the technique mixing paints and cleaning brushes, drying time, etc. If you just wanna start painting, acrylics is for you. They are water-soluble, fast-drying and can paint on almost any surface. You cannot (shouldn't) paint acrylics over any type of oil painting.
