Consider that there are two forms of insurance; well-care and major medical which normally covers hospitalization.
 
That of course will vary from one part of America to the other. It is not the same is say Greenland as it is in Bolivia and they are both in America.

There is way too much disparity in the living standards of America, a continent with 37 nations and 970 million Americans for anybody to answer a blanket question like that.
