Ok so i have a Betta in a 10 gal tank to day i was going to get a mystery snail and i was wandering what type of fish would go good with the Betta and will the mystery snail go good?
Yep! Giving them lots of space is a great way to make them happy. The snail will also keep the tank very clean. It's best not to put any other fish with your Betta, since you probably have a male, and they do not do well with other fish. A snail would be perfect though! Good luck!
Well... bettas are fin nippers so you should not put in goldfish and such with long fins. Gouramis are friendly tank mates as is guppies so they should be fine. Bettas do better alone though. Solitary fish, prefer to be alone.
Yay, a Betta in 10 G. I'm so proud of you!! So many people put the poor things in a little bowl. You could get other small fish to go with it, like white clouds or some kind of tetra. These usually like to stay in a group so get 4-6. Those plus the snail and betta will probably be max for a 10G. Good Luck!!
try neon's they are good starter fish.. a pleco is also a good choice and if you want something different try a channel cat they come in albino, or Silver...
to the people above me Betta's naturally live in small puddles in the wild were they come from they actually like small areas,, i worked at a pet shop in the fish dept while they can live in a larger tank the filtering will actually shorten there life
Grats on properly housing your betta! So many do not, then ask why their fish is sick .
You would do well to get a small group of dither fish- small darty little guys like danios or cardinal tetras. You can still get a snail with that group.
EDIT: Do not put any gourami in there as shuntedwolf suggests. Bettas and gourami are both anabatoids and the betta will tear the gourami apart just as if it were another male betta.
