Wow. The English. The English are only a small part of the settlers that colonized the "New World". The "Colonial system" assumed by the English Monarchy was simple. The people fled England to escape the Monarchy and live as free persons. The English chose to exploit and tax the free living "Americans". The Americans revolted and the Revolutionary War eliminated English rule forever. It's more complicated than you can imagine, but that's it in a thumbnail overview.
