What type of business department am I describing?

So I am supposed to be applying to colleges right now but my college adviser doesn't know what I'm looking for in the business Field. Along the lines of what I want to do is start off small and buy a small building and start from the ground and create a Business out of it. Such as buy a building and create it into a daycare and then either manage it or sell it. Along those lines. I'm so confused if I like marketing or management or what. I was thinking of going for my mba but I'm not sure what that even does. Please help if you know what I am interested in. It's my future I need help. College suggestions would be nice. I live in NY
 
You want to own the business or the building. If you want to own the building, then it's commercial real estate. If you want to own the business, then you are an entrepreneur.

The MBA helps you plan for business activities and helps you deal with common problems a company encounters.
