I recently snapped the bolt that goes through the shaft of my old pedals. I know I have to buy an entirely new set; but I don't want to go with aluminum. I need something a little bit more durable. I weigh 240 pounds and I usually wear a 30 pound backpack. Though I try not to put all of my weight on one pedal, it happens at times when I try to get going from a full stop (inexperience, I guess!)
What other types of materials are out there, and would I be able to get another pair of (durable) pedals for less than $50.00?
