What to look for in a road bicycle?

Looking for a road bike at th moment and my budget is around £350. Looking at the specs and have no idea what it means.

A list will do with numbers

Also is it possible to put a back holder on the back of road bike.

Im sure its possible just want to make sure

This totally depends on what type of bike you're after. Do you want a racer or a town bike or a mountain bike for a bit of off road? Need more info. I'd suggest you find a good cycle shop and ask them. They won't stitch you up so don't worry. I've a carbon fibre racer and a town bike. Two bikes for two different things. Have fun! Hitting 50mph is exhilarating!
 
The first thing is to figure out what size bike you need.

The second thing is to look for a good used bike, 350 lbs wont get you anything new. Touring bikes will allow you to use panniers and racks. They are more comfortable then a regular road bike and are geared to handle the extra weight and hills.
