What to expect in a high school vocational culinary arts program?

Crap, put it in the wrong section, it didn't save my selection. It's High school but also a Uni question somewhat.
I'm enrolled in a vocational culinary arts program for the next school year and year after that (Junior and Sr. year, 4 hours a day), and I was wondering what to expect. Will it be like 2 years of culinary school, should I go on to a professional culinary school afterward? and I know the realities of being a chef- it sucks when you first start, long hours on your feet, crap pay, hot and sweaty. But I really want to do it, and hey, I'm a masochist so it wouldn't be a problem for me :P A little humor thrown in there. But seriously, any advice? Should I buy my own coat, try my new techniques at home, practice outside of the kitchen?
