What to do with my "broken" backpack to make it usable?

Much to my sadness, my beloved Jansport backpack just broke. On the main compartment zipper, both of the zippers fell off the tracks, rendering the top compartment useless and permanently open. I can't bear to throw it away just like that, so I'm looking for ideas of what I can do with it.

Besides the fact that the main zipper dosn't work, the backpack is in great shape. The fabric is without rip, the other 2 compartments open and close perfectly. And it's a pretty cool design on the front.

So I was wondering what to do? First, is there a way to fix it so I can use it as a backpack?
But secondly, what else could I do with it? How could I mod it out to make it interesting? I was thinking of cutting off the top section and sewing it together permanently to make a small, 2-compartment shoulder purse-bag thing. Or maybe use it to hold my camera. It's the same design as the Jansport Right Packs, so the front portion is very squarish.

I was also thinking of just safety pinning the top up and wearing it as a backpack but only using the two zippers (obviously I'd use this mostly for affect, and only when I need to carry a few things) Seems like a waste of space almost, but might look cool? I dunno.

Anyway, I'm short on ideas! What could I do with this to make it cool and usable or interesting again? Thanks! And the more creative/unique, the better :)
