What to do with 2 gallon fish tank?

I recently tried raising Ghost shrimp in their, but all 12 of them had died out already (VERY short lifespan). Now, it is just laying around the house, empty and lifeless. I already have a different 10 gallon tank with 2 fantail goldfish in there.

It's a 2 gallon, glass tank. It has 2 pounds of rocks, 2 aquarium plants, and a small TetraWhisper in-tank small filter.
Might there be anything I can put in it? I'm not to comfortable with a betta since they need warm water, and our house is a cold house, and no heater for a 2 gallon tank available.

Any suggestions or objections are welcomed.

My fantail goldfish are 4 years old and they are staying at 4 inches long for the past 3 years. So, they are fine, I guess. Like I said thought,

The room temperature is about 74 in the spring/summer, 68 in the winter. If there is a type of fish that likes similar water temps as a goldfish, then I can maybe give it a try. As before,

How cold is your house? If its above 68 degrees, a betta should be good. Also, there is a mini heater for 2.5 gallon tanks, but it will do good in a 2 gallon. If you still do not want one, I would try,

3 white cloud minnows

or

3 danios

or

a paradise fish

All these fish do great in cool water. You could also put 1 cory catfish white the white clouds and danios and 2 with the paradise fish.

mini frogs, or 8 neon guppies :) i had the guppies and they lived for about 5 or 6 years i think and the frog lived for nine years :) they are sooo cute :)
 
Mangrove Killifish.... but only one.This fish hates space (find another fish that way),dislikes other fish (most hermits do),and is really pretty simple to care for (but secure lid needed.... or it'll go on "walk-about").

Hard to beat this fish for small spaces... and it has some really unique little "traits".

Rather than spoil the surprise.... check it out yourself.
It's native to Florida,so your house temps should be fine.
 
Maybe two/three wcmm but probably not. Gohst shrimp like heated water so that was probably your faulty there... lol. The ten gallon isn't big enough for two fantails, you need a twenty for them, they get 8"+
 
I have a betta fish in a 2 gallon tank, with no heater and it's just fine! But if you really don't want a betta, you can a couple gold fish. Or if you want, you can get a pair of boy and girl guppies... but you may need to move them to a bigger tank if they have lots of little guppies.... x)
