I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed on Thursday and was prescribed Vicodin for the pain. So far the pain has only increased and my right cheek is more swollen than it was on the second day. I'm worried that I may have a dry socket, but can't do anything about it until tomorrow morning when the doctor's office opens. I've been taking Vicodin every 5 hours and it's not really stopping the pain anymore. I have some ibuprofen topical gel that I got in Europe and am thinking about applying it to the outside of my cheek (where most of the pain is). What else should I do? I heard that applying ice doesn't do anything after it's been more than 24 hours after surgery.
