You should be able to remove the rear suspension without having to much troubling, the best way to lower the fuel tank is to use a floor jack to hold the fuel tank up while your loosening the two stripes that;s holding the tank up.
I know that the fuel tank must be removed,but there is a part of the rear suspension in the middle of it,and there is not enough room to take the pump unit without lowering the tank completely
