someone hit the rear of our vehicle. it was a minor damage but the casing of the other vehicle's plate number imprint into our rear bumper and left a huge square shape. however there was no injury has involved. The other driver agreed that she will pay the damages. what is the safest (my side) steps to file a claim if in case the other driver will change her mind not to pay the damages instead have her insurance company responsible for the damage? Thanks

Any time you have an accident, no matter how minor, if damage is invloved. You should have filed a police report. All you can do now, is give everything you know about the other driver (hopefully you got their insurance info) to your insurance company.

You either get cash up front and if not, then file a report. Never allow them to pay you some other time. My friends have done this and made them go to the closest ATM machine and get money.

A friend of friend had let the other guy go because they said they'll pay another time. This person filed a report and said he hit him first. It's risky.

Do not accept one dime from the other driver. If you do your insurance company will no longer help if you have problems later because then you have settled the claim on your own.

Put the claim in with your auto insurance company and let them handle it. That is what you pay them for.
