What to do about Subpoena?

The young lady who rents my guest house works full time and goes to university full time.

She had a job at a nightclub. One night when she was working, a patron left the club and got into an auto accident. The driver in the vehicle he hit died.

She got the subpoena on the criminal case & called the DA's office as instructed. She was told to show up when the subpoena said & they'd "work with" her.

She's considering writing the judge a letter. Is this appropriate?

Would it be better to write the DA a letter? She talked to a receptionist/secretary & she's not sure how competent she is - she gave her phone number 3 times & isn't sure the woman got it correct.

My renter believes there's going to be a subpoena issued for a civil case in connection with the same accident. She doesn't have time for this.

Suggestions appreciated.

She got a much better job and left the nighclub in late August. She is currently on probation at her new job for 90 days - absences can count against her.
