What to do about hillbilly in-laws?

Ok long story short, my mother in law lived with us for like eight months but in the end we had to kick her out for stealing, not helping with the bills like she was supposed to, and just being a horrible person to live with. Now my husbands whole family hates me because she lied and told them I did a bunch of stuff I did not do. The whole family is a bunch of racist rednecks. Every other word out of there mouths is the N word. (racial slur for a black person) I am so sick of the ignorance they are showing me so I was just wondering what other people would do to remedy the situation. Thanks in advance.
 
If your husbands family is so bad,why do you care? Do you think anyone else is going to respect their opinion? Keep your distance and just ignore them.
