Long story short (kind of):
Ok so I am on a swim team, and our team was pretty big a couple years ago, but a bunch of people quit, including a girl, Girl B, who was BFFs with another girl, Girl A(like so close to the point they were weird because they had their own little “language”). So after Girl B quit, I became closer friends with Girl A. over the 2 years Girl B was gone, I became really good friends with Girl A (but not weird). This year, Girl B came back to the team, and they automatically became “weird,” but not AS weird as before. I felt kind of left out, even though I have other friends on the team, but it felt like Girl A came to take my place. I didn’t say anything to them, but my other friends agreed that they were kind of leaving everyone else out. They still talked to me, but I was still third wheel. Soon, girls from the younger age group noticed and told Girl A’s little sister, who told Girl A, who told Girl B in an email and said how all the other girls thought Girl B was replacing me and how rude it was that our teammates thought they could tell her (Girl A) who her best friend is. THEN Girl A told me that the younger girls were talking about us and forwarded her email (mentioned before) to me. The email really hurt though, it seemed like she was saying she didn’t want to be friends with me anymore.
K so my question is,
Could she be mad at me? why would she send me this unless she WANTED me to be mad at her?
And should I be openly mad, sad, neutral, or just act as if I never read the email and had no idea what was going on?
