What things in the home can be used in a similar way to grit salt?

I need to grit the drive but there is no grit in my road or any neighbouring roads, I have no table salt in my cupboards, I have no sand, I have no cat litter and I cannot get ot the shops as they are too far away.

What else can I use to remove the snow?

I have tried shovelling it but it is just cokpacting it and turning it to ice.

Any help?
