What the hell is going on with LimeWire?!?!?

Right when I wanna get some music I get an official notice thing saying that LimeWire is basically under a lawsuit or something?? Is there any other sites that are free,safe,legal?? Limewire was the only way I could get music and now it's probably history. What the hell?? lol
