What the French, toast? Dropped calls

I am going to blow a gasket. I have the flu and can't deal with it, and to make my life even worse --- my phone isn't ringing half the time, drops calls if someone else calls in, and then just totally drops calls. There is no switch-over from UMA to Edge or visa versa. Just dropped calls.

In other words, I might as well not have a stupid cell phone. Yes, data is important too. But it's been so spotty since the last "outage" that I want to kill someone.

I spoke to two different reps at T-Mob yesterday and one told me a tower has been down .8 miles from my house. Not sure how many there are, but it's been down since 2/20/08, so if it's the main one ---- I want to kill someone again. What is up with this mess?

Everyone I talk to that has T-Mobile in Chicago seems to be having similar problems.
 
I would call them back about the problems. A lot of times they will give you free minutes or data on your bill.

All I can say is down in FL I am not having any trouble and rarely get a dropped call.
 
I am down here in Texas on T-Mo and over the last 7 weeks I have had problems with:

Browsers (both the native BB and Opera Mini)
Email (or lack thereof for several hours at least once every 2 weeks)
Signal problems (dropping from EDGE to edge to GSM to Searching to No Signal)
 
Oh, I called 2x yesterday. They gave me free minutes both times. I never go over and have unlimited data. At some point, the minutes don't mean anything.

I just want my phone to work. Just work! Stop taking so long for e-mail. Stop dropping calls. Something! I am not well enough to do a full wipe right now, and I would totally mess it up. But I truly believe the mess is on their end. Not the phone.
 
Do you have the latest OS? The newest version is supposed to fix some UMA issues, I've noticed a bit of an improvement. They only time I get dropped calls is if the wifi connection and the EDGE is really bad both at the same time.

When you say the latest OS, do you mean the 4.2....? If so, yes. I went into a store last night too. They told me there's enough going wrong with my unit that CS should send me another new one... Good lord, I am so tired of messing with my Curve. Can they just release the 4.3xxx?
