What temp. should I cook my home made fudge at?

I made fudge last night, I guess I over cooked it at the soft ball stage. When I got the fudge out of the pan. It was stuck on the bottom of the pan. The fudge was thick as a brick. Pretty funny had to laugh. These mistakes I think will make me great one day at making fudge. ha ha
