What suv is better, 2003 Suzuki XL-7 or 2004 Toyota Highlander?

Toyota has a better reputation for reliability than Suzuki, since most of Suzuki's cars are engineered and built by either GM Daewoo or another third party manufacturer. Toyotas may also be more expensive to buy, however, they do hold their resale value better and tend to be higher quality. 
So I'd take the Highlander, no doubt. Also consider a comparable Nissan Pathfinder, it gets less gas mileage than the Highlander, but has a lower price typically.
