What steps can we do to try to get certain gun laws passed in our state?

It's a serious question that i've been thinking of for awhile now.. I think that at the very least guns should be allowed to persons that are entitiled to them...but if there are children in the house they should be locked up! Also I belive that if they are not locked up and a child uses them to harm others, the parents should be held responsible in some way (child endangerment or something like that).
Miss Mommy to be...you are sadly mistaken. In my state that is NOT the case! Nor do "childrens" shot guns have to be registered...
