What sports should I do during the summer?

I know that I could go swimming and running, but what other sports is there to do during the summer in Southern California? oh and besides basketball
 
Is there any sport you can't do in Southern California? You probably don't want to do what my cousin does. My cousin who is in Southern CA is into cross country skiing. Of course she has to travel some to get to the snow but she works out on roller skis in the off season. She has a library about skiing. Google ski library.
