What sort of help can I offer my little brother?

He's 19 and not working at the moment after having a really bad time of things in his life, they've stuck him on Jobseekers Allowance but I've managed to get him a place in College which will start in August. Do I have to notify them of him starting this course? is he still entitled to Jobseekers Allowance or any other benefits? The way I've looked at it is that since he's accepted this course, then basically he can't really be "jobseeking" as such as he'll not be there in a job for very long if he did start between now and August. He's my little brother and I love him so much, I just want what's best for him and he has says that he appreciates my help, so anything that you can tell me that is of relevance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much.

mayb u should look into a study allowance, if he is only 19 he could get Austudy or youthallowance (if in Aus)

I think he will be classed as a full time student, and therefore not entitled to jobseekers. He could get EMA which is not much ,depending on personal circumstances.£10-£30 per week.I would tell DSS just to avoid having to pay back any benefit overpayment.Hope this helps.
