So.. solo and ensemble is coming up, and I have to choose my song now! I don't really know what to select... I'm not in the first group out of five, but the second. So basically, next year if I get a gold medal, then I'd go to state and see what I rank, but this year, I'm in the category right before it. I'm a Soprano (first) and a freshman in high school, so my voice isn't completely developed, but my range is about from the G below middle C to the C two octaves above middle C and not much higher or lower than that - maybe by a half step. I really don't want anything operatic, but not too "Glee" style or theatre. The song should at least go up to an F (the one that's an octave above middle C). In past years I've done "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" from Phantom of the Opera and "Goodnight My Someone" from Music Man. Of course, anything from Phantom of the Opera is semi-operatic, and I don't mind that, and I'm not opposed to other languages, either. So anyway, I'd like some suggestions
