A couple of years ago I came across a site that had hundreds of pages of really high quality pictures, some where photophop'd, but many were not. None were drawings or paintings, it was all photography. I can't remember the name of the site for the life of me, I really enjoyed looking through all of the high quality and artsy photos that are on it. If you know of the site I am talking about please let me know. If you have any questions about it I will be happy to answer them.

I should also add that there was no place to comment, no users, none of the social aspects of most sites today, that is why I liked it so much. It was just a simple website, with a simple lay out. There were tags, I remember that much.
