What Sims game should I buy?

I already have the Sims 3 but I want to buy a Sims 2 game. The only other one I have is The Sims Life Stories and I don't like it that much.

What Sims 2 game is the best to buy? Which is the most fun to play?
 
I have Sims 2 and Sims 2 Pets... since I haven't tried any others, so I'll pick between 2 or 2 Pets... I'll pick Pets. Definately pets. What's Sims 3 like?
