What should my gym routine be?

For all of you fitness experts out there, help! I am getting married in five months. I am looking to loose just a couple of pounds but my main goal is to tone up. I am 5'5 and weight 123 lbs.I have been watching what I eat, sweets and greasy stuff are out of my diet. What should my gym routine be? how many calories should I be burning? and how often should I go to the gym? I am afraid to over do it or in the other hand to not do enough.
