Ive ridden my friend's a ninja 500 a few times and I mountain bike alot over the summer... Im going to college next year and I want to get a motorcycle.... I don't want to start off with a 500cc because it seems a bit under powered(to me at least).. but i don't want to go for a V-max either.... so ive been looking at bikes for the past couple weeks and here goes:
Of course i wouldn't mind getting the typical mid sized sport bike like the Ninja 650 or the CBR 600 or the Yamaha R6.... but they are just-not-me =(... at least that's what I think so far..... but then again, I don't really own a motorcycle and am therefore a total newbie at this.
The bikes that I really like, are the naked street fighters. I like the kawasaki ER-6N... all the Buells (they have a bit too much power though i would think... ive never ridden anything above 500cc's though, so i wouldn't know)..... the ducati Monster..... the Yamaha XJ6n...... well...prettyy much anything that's naked and looks aggressivee......especially the kawasaki Z1000 (in orange) and the Benelli Cafe Racer...... problem is..... my friend on the 500 tells me that 1000cc's is way too much to start off with.... and he almost has me convinced that it is.... but then again, i wont be changing the bike for probably at least the next 8 years because of collage and then med school since i wanna become a doctor... so what ever i get, im stuck with... and mabey getting a 1000cc would be good, you never know...
I also want something that's reliable and doesn't have too high of a ride height... im 5' 8" and a half (if that matters)... and im muscular though, so i wouldn't mind if the bike was a little on the heavy side...
any way, all advice would be great.... im really looking forward to geting my first bike... also, how do i convince my mom to let me get one..... dad's fine with it, mom's not (common dilema)........ also, for thoes of you who will prob tell me to take the safety course, im already planing on it.
