So I'm a senior and I've never been to a formal dance before and I actually want to go this year since it's my last year. However, I don't know how to dress up really well and I wanna look good cuz I'll be taking a date.
So here's what I was thinking:
*A pair of those black skinny jeans.. they're jeans but don't have that jeans look.. I'd rather wear pants that are skinny because regulars feel weird now..
*Black shoes.. probably my black skater shoes since I'm kind of broke and won't be able to buy any formal shoes to wear
*A black long-sleeve button up shirt.. Pretty formal and decent, I guess..
*A tie that compliments what my date is wearing.. And since I will be a math major I thought I'd incorporate that into this and purchase a tie from one of those nerdy-math websites with like a pi symbol or something like that but of the color that my date has so we can match..
*Medium-length hardcore looking hair
That sounds like a ton of black, I know. Any suggestions or recommendations for what to wear? Would you be alright with it if your date wore something like this? I'm 6'2 and thin.. I weigh like 140 lbs. My date is probably like 8 inches or so shorter.. haha So give me your input

Oh and I might as well ask.. What type of music do they play at formal dances? Same thing as regular ones but the only difference is that it's in formal clothing? ie, hip hop and stuff like that? and would I be expected to grind on my date? cuz I'm new to this stuff lol!
