I recently made a sculpture out of plaster bandages with the intention of sanding it down afterward. Little did I know that this is virtually impossible without ruining the surface because of the gauze. I don't want to start over- but I don't like this rough look that the sculpture has now. Is there some kind of clay/plaster material that I can add on top of the of current sculpture in order to smooth everything out? Preferably, I'd like to be able to sand the final product- but any other method is fine as well.
What should I use to smooth out my plaster bandage sculpture?
