My husband has recently got joint custody and has his daughter every weekend from mon-fri,she has been coming to our house now since the beginning of sept 10.My step daughter has had an on going head lice problem for a while now,it comes and go's.We have spoken to the mother about the problem and she say's she is going to take care it but every time the child comes to our home she's got it.We have told themother that she has to take care of her house by cleaning all clothes,bedding,furniture,bagging stuffed animals,ex,and we told her to take care of everyone's head in the house but she hasn't done the cleaning portion yet,she wont take our advice according to my step daughter.My step daughter has told us that her sisters had lice to and that her mother only will treat her head before coming to dads house but not the sisters head.The doctor has told my husband that they have given his daughter's mother everything they can for the lice and that there was only one more thing they can proscribe and thats it.My concern is that what happens after the treatment is done and my step daughter ends up with it again.We have used the old mayonise trick that kills the live lice and we been combing out the nits so that she is bug free when with us.When my step daughter comes over for the weekend we have to do all bedding,clothes,bag all stuffed animals,wet dry vac furniture everything,I love my step daughter but this situation is getting really stressful for me as i have 4 boys of my own that have gotton it from her a few times and right away i take care of it and they dont have it again until she comes back for the weekend,I'm really stressed about it and i just need some advice about how to speak withmy husband about it without him getting mad and then us argueing about it.What would you do if you were in this situation?
We have contacted the mothers dcf worker and they have spoken to her and she told them she is trying and they believe it.The mother trys blaming it on the school saying that she is getting it from there but then sends her daughter to an after school program and dont notify them about the headlice.I'm going to notify the program myself because if i dont the mother wont.
