I'm planning on competing in the SCCA Solo Competition in my region
and i'm looking at getting either a

1991 Porsche 944 S2 (3.0L DOHC Tourbo 208HP)
or
1996 Nissan 300ZX TT (3.0L DOHC Turbo 280-300HP)
or
1991 Mazda RX-7 Turbo (1.3L SOHC? Turbo 200 hp)

and i'm looking at stock only i don't care about upgrading the mechanics of the engine.
What do you think?

Porsche. No if, and's or but's about it. Although you might want to make sure it is a turbo (951 designation) because I am pretty sure in the U.S. they only ran from 1986 to 1989. The "S" just signifies it has beefier brakes, adj. Koni susp, larger sway bars. Check the options plate on the rear body panel behind the carpet.

go with the mazda because its a very nice, fast and awesoe car. especially when you have money to tune it with.

If you're practical, you wouldn't opt for the Mazda because of its poor fuel economy and its high insurance rates.

The Porsche will have overall better performance, both on the drag strip or on the track. However, I am assuming that the Porsche will be a lot more expensive because it is just that: a Porshce.

If I were you, I'd go for the Porsche or the TT for practicality.

Best of luck to you.

Damn! I going to have to say the Porsche on this.

But I'd love to have all three.
