What should I feed my neighbourhood rabbit?

I have this rabbit that comes into my backyard, it also has little ones. I try to feed it carrots, but it runs away, thinking that I am going to hurt it or something. So I would like to know how I can get close to the rabbit without startling it, and what I should feed the rabbit. I do not know what kind of rabbit it is, but it has a brownish orange coat, and it is about medium size, and I think it has little ones as well. I just want the rabbit to feel at home. Thanks.

put some carrots out or even rabbit food (get the pellets because they leave half of the musli stuff) then leave it out whilst you sit in your garden then let the rabbits come to you. the little ones (depending on how old they are) will probably still drink milk.
hope this helps :)

This bunny, I'm guessing, is a wild rabbit. If so, then that is why it is very timid. It sees you as a predator. I would give it a couple carrots, apples maybe. Stuff that it likes. Here is a page that shows they kinds of vegetables that rabbits can eat -- http://rabbit.org/care/veggies.html -- and a list of fruits that rabbits can eat -- http://rabbit.org/care/fruits.html --. Good luck with the bunny :)

leave some chopped carrot and lettuce in a pile int he garden and let it get comfortable eating in your garden, if you remain in the garden but a bit away from the rabbit whilst it eats then it will start getting use to you being there then over time get a little closer then maybe it will eat from your hand :)
