I received a citation a few weeks ago for selling tobacco to a minor. The cops were doing a sting and I failed to check the girl's ID - it was a mistake and I take full responsibility for it. But now I have a court date coming up and I have no idea what to expect. I don't want this to show up on my record forever.
Also, this was my first job, I had only been there for a week, and I was working alone that day - will any of this help my case? I had planned on asking that this be removed from my record and I would pay the full fine. But again, I've never had any legal problems before and I don't know what to expect.
