what should i do to ensure i write a good novel?

i mean like what are the things that i should look out for the pitfalls that most beginner novelists fall for because im writing a novel now and im always doubting what i write im always afraid of my writing being boring or just plain bad

also what should i do to stay motivated and not stop writing cause sometimes i get really lazy and not write for a long time or write very little
