What should I do my sons betta fish looks like a blow fish?

He probably has swim bladder disease. Google how to treate it, bhut i have heard it is hard to treat.
Do his scales stick out, and he lookslike a pinecone? He might have pinecone disease, look it up and how to treat it.
I suspect he had a good life because betta fish usually live from 3-5 years, so it might just be his time

Goodluck!Maybe try some "Melafix", it's a natural type of medicine that wont harm your tank.
Best bet would probably be to take him to a local privately owned fish store, not one of those crappy chain stores like Petco or Petsmart, those kids are clueless 80% of the time and usually don't care either.
